How do I forcibly merge selected cards in my contacts?

I have a couple of cards in my contacts that I want to combine. They don't automatically get combined when I use the 'Look for duplicates' function - so that is no good as a solution. I want to be able to instruct Contacts to combine the two cards but I can't seem to find a way to make that happen.

Any ideas?
